We enjoyed making posies for those in our local community and hung them on the railings outside the church for passes by to take for their mothers or to take home to help them remember their mums.
Racial Justice Sunday
We were delighted to welcome Dr Rosena Allin Khan to speak at our service on Racial Justice, on Sunday 6th February. We enjoyed joining with people from a range of churches and organisations to reflect on this theme and the take up the challenge to act against injustice.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The Week of Prayer—held annually on 18-25 January—involves Churches and Christians across the globe.
The theme for 2022 was chosen by the Middle East Council of Churches to evoke the experience of the Three Kings, or Magi.
During the week, all Christians are invited to reflect each day on a specific theme, as part of the overall theme.

Loving Henry Prince Hamper Project
St John’s Church was delighted to work with the Nicholas Stewart Project and Christ Revelation Faith Ministries to create over 65 Christmas hampers for adults and children who live locally. These individuals and families had been nominated by others and we were glad to be able to provide additional treats and gifts to them this Christmas. We are grateful for the generous donations we received that made this possible.
Christmas at St John's
We were glad to be able to celebrate Christmas together this year, with our Carol Service and Midnight Service. Unlike last year, this year we were able to sing carols this year!
Ribbons of Remembrance
We are delighted that so many people found our Ribbons of Remembrance helpful and were able to spend time marking and remembering the life of a loved one, or those who have dies in war, by tying a ribbon.
Harvest Supper
We had a wonderful evening together with friends and neighbours from the local area and neighbouring churches, sharing food from around the world including food from Korea, the Caribbean, Italy, Poland, Ethiopia and the African continent. A great way to re-start our joy in offering hospitality!
Mothering Sunday
On Sunday we mark Mothering Sunday with the giving of posies to all in our congregation as we remember those who have cared for us. We reflect on the attentiveness and care shown between Mary and Jesus as he hung on the cross, and how we too can show that to others. You are most welcome to join us.
